These data represent the total number of children in the population (from birth up to and including 17 years of age). 

Data Source

Data are from Easy Access to Juvenile Populations: 1990-2022: http://www.ojjdp.gov/ojstatbb/ezapop/. This source notes that these data were derived from data originally collected by the U.S. Census Bureau and subsequently modified by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). New data became available from the data provider in 2024 for the years of 2021 and 2022, as well as revisions to data for past years. These updates were made to the data center in October of 2024.
