Definition
Number of homeless students as identified by the local school district’s homeless liaison. These are a cumulative count of students enrolled in the district for any given school year who are homeless at any point in the year. The Primary Night Time Residence is at the point in time when the student is identified as homeless.
The total number of unaccompanied youth is a subset of the larger totals shown.

Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, the Mass. Department of Elementary and Secondary Education reports these numbers slightly differently. This series has been split for consistency and ease of understanding.
