The Instituto del Desarrollo de la Juventud, IDJ (Youth Development Institute) is the only nonpartisan organization in Puerto Rico dedicated to advocating for public policies —at the federal and local levels— that strengthen the economic security of families with children and youth in Puerto Rico. The IDJ uses data, research, family and youth voices for advocacy efforts, public policy analysis and impact evaluation. 
Our mission is for all children and youth in Puerto Rico to have access to opportunities that enable them to develop to their full potential and prosper in financially stable households. We envision a Puerto Rico where all children live in homes that are economically stable, thereby transforming the conditions that affect children, youth, and their families. We are a multidisciplinary team composed of top-notch economists, statisticians, communications experts, and sociologists, deeply committed to the socioeconomic well-being of families and Puerto Rico.
