Definition

The estimated percentage of an entering freshman class not graduating in 4 years by the student's race and ethnicity. The measure is derived from the Averaged Freshman Graduation Rate (AFGR), which uses aggregate student enrollment data to estimate the size of an incoming freshman class and aggregate counts of the number of regular diplomas awarded four years later.

Data for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 have come from the "First Look" report "Public High School Four-Year On-Time Graduation Rates and Event Dropout Rates: School Years 2010–11 and 2011–12"  available at: http://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/pubsinfo.asp?pubid=2014391 and are considered preliminary data.

Data for 2012-2013 have come from the "Digest of Education Statistics" available at https://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d15/tables/dt15_219.35.asp?current=yes
