Notes

Note: Children from low-income families are classified as Category One if they participate in one of the following: Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or the CAPS child care subsidy program. Children who participate in the free and reduced-price meal program through a public school also may be counted. Prior to 2013-2014, children receiving PeachCare for Kids (Georgia’s Children’s Health Insurance Program) were also included as low-income. Do not compare data from 2014 and later to prior years as the methodology has changed. Data for 2022 for several north Georgia counties reflects an underreporting of low-income children which is expected to be resolved with 2023 data. N.A.: Data Not Available
