Foster Care - Placement setting stability during reporting period in Pennsylvania

Why This Indicator Matters

Every move a child makes in foster care creates one more traumatic episode, in addition to the circumstances that led to the initial out of home placement. Placement stability, and the ability to have a child stay in one placement setting, leads to better long-term outcomes. Unfortunately, nearly one-third of children in care post 12 months are experiencing 3 or more placement episodes.

S = Suppressed.  Statistics (rates, ratios, percents) are not calculated and displayed for counts less than 10 (or less than 3 for Bayesian/Nearest Neighbor rates). This is due to the unreliability of statistics based on small numbers of events.
