Estimated number and share of child population ages 0-4 years, disaggregated by race/ethnicity. 

Data Source

The data used for this measure come from the Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM), Estimates of April 1 Population, Small Area Demographic Estimates (SADE). Data were retrieved from OFM in August 2024.  Data can be found at http://www.ofm.wa.gov.

S: Data estimate has been suppressed. Numbers and percentages are suppressed when the number of under-5 child population is 10 or fewer per racial/ethnic category per county.

OFM defines racial/ethnic categories as:
White: People having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.
Black: People having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa.
American Indian and Alaska Native: People having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and who maintain tribal affiliation or community attachment.
Asian and Pacific Islander: People having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent.
Pacific Islander: Any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands.
Hispanic: May be of any race.
