Why This Indicator Matters

Public libraries are essential components of the infrastructure in our state which reflect the diversity, character, needs and expectations of a community. They build and support community, promote arts, champion youth, are gathering places for diverse populations and allow access to all the world's knowledge. Public libraries are unique and valuable resources. Yet, public libraries are often undervalued in an increasingly digital world. That said, Delaware Libraries single technology digital infrastructure supports statewide partnerships- currently more than 130 partner organizations work with libraries to serve diverse community needs.
