Definition
The number of public school students who withdraws from school for any reason cited in statute without transferring to another school, home education program, or adult education program. Dropout classifications used for data collection include, but are not limited to, voluntary withdrawal from school prior to graduation (i.e., after passing the age of compulsory school attendance), failure to meet attendance requirements due to excessive absenteeism, discontinued attendance with whereabouts unknown, and failure to enter/attend school as expected after having registered.

Beginning with 2012/13 and 2013/14 data - LNE=Low Number Event - data are suppressed for counties with less than 10 students enrolled in ELL classes.
Beginning with 2014/15 data - an asterisk (*) represents data that are suppressed due to confidentiality.
