Definition
The number of individuals under age 18 who live below the U.S. poverty threshold, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. The percent in poverty is individuals under age 18 living in poverty divided by individuals under age 18 for whom poverty status is determined. The poverty threshold was $25,926 for a family of two adults and two related children under age 18 in 2019.
