Data Source
Student program enrollment data originates from The Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). This data is reported by school district and for the state in the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Reports. The Texas Kids Count numbers for the state are slightly different than the numbers reported in the AEIS reports because of differences in methodology (i.e., district vs. county-level data).
Notes
In some counties "0" may actually represent a low number event (only a handful of students enrolled, masked for privacy). To verify, check out Texas Education Agency's Student Program and Special Populations Reports.
