Definition
Wisconsin Shares is Wisconsin's child care subsidy program for low-income families. Children in this program are eligible to receive care in licensed, certified, and “provisionally” certified settings.
These data represent an average of the number of children in this program in each month of the year. Many children do not receive subsidies for the entire year. Please note that due to mathmatical calculations, Counties that have children whose families receive Wisconsin Shares in some months may still show a monthly average of zero.
These data may have been influenced by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, starting in 2020.
Data for Menominee represent Tribal data rather than County data.
