Percentage of 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders who reported using cigarettes or smokeless tobacco in the past 30 days.

Data from the Communities That Care Survey administered annually. Data represent academic year. Not all counties participate. N/A if the county did not have enough participants that year. Must have 2+ years of data to get a slope. Due to 2015 changes in legislation requiring opt-in parent consent for surveys in schools, is not comparable to previous years and a decision was made not to report the 2015 state value. During the past five years, there was an average annual 0.77 percentage point decrease in recent use of tobacco products.
