Definition

Number of live births by racial or ethnic category. Birth rates are per 1,000 population.
White non-Hispanic - live births recorded as white alone and non-Hispanic
Black non-Hispanic - live births recorded as black alone and non-Hispanic
Other non-Hispanic - live births recorded as any other race alone or two or more races and non-Hispanic
Hispanic - live births recorded as being of any race and Hispanic

Florida CHARTS, Division of Public Health Statistics & Performance Management, Florida Department of Health. Population estimates used for calculating the birth rates are provided by the Department of Health, Office of Health Statistics and Assessment in consultation with the Florida's Legislature's Office of Economic and Demographic Research.

Notes

Race and Hispanic origin are determined by documentation provided on the birth certificate.
Beginning in 2014, race and ethnicity categories are presented differently than in earlier years.
An asterisk (*) represents data that are suppressed due to confidentiality.
