Definition

The percent and number of mothers who did not graduate high school. Data are three-year aggregate for years 2011-2013. The most recent updates are single year data.

Data Source: Idaho State Department of Health and Welfare, Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics, Special Records Request.

Percentages are based on records with known education status.  Mothers who did not graduate include mothers with 12th grade or less education, but no diploma.  Data include births to teens and women who may graduate after the live birth.

Footnotes: Percents based on records with stated education. In 2004, the Idaho birth certificate was revised for the question on mother's education. Prior to 2004, the question was based on the number of years of school completed; beginning in 2004, education is based on the highest degree or level of school education completed at the time of delivery. Data before 2004 is not comparable to data from 2004-present.
