The percent of 10th graders who reporting using illegal drugs in the past 30 days was computed from the following questions: “During the past 30 days, on how many days did you: Use marijuana or hashish (grass, hash, pot)?” and “During the past 30 days, on how many days did you: not counting alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana, use another illegal drug?”
The Healthy Youth Survey is based on a random sample of 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th graders in schools across Washington State. The HYS is a collaborative effort of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health Service's Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, Community Trade and Economic Development, the Family Policy Council and the Liquor Control Board.
