Definition
Infant mortality rate is the number of infants who die before their first birthday per 1,000 live births. Infant mortality rate disparity is the ratio of the Black infant mortality rate compared to the White infant mortality rate.
For example, a value of 2.0 means that the Black babies are dying at twice the rate of White babies.
