Definition

The number of licensed, practicing medical doctors and specialists by county of practice. Rate per 100,000 resident population. 

Data Source

From 2019-20 data were collected from the Health Resource and Service Administration (data.HRSA.gov). Prior to that data were extracted from Health Professional Licensing Reports, Tennessee Department of Health. The population data were from the Division of Population Health Assessment, Tennessee Department of Health. The KIDS COUNT division of the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth organized data and calculated rates. 

Notes

Only medical doctors and specialists with "Active Licensed" Status and practicing in Tennessee are considered. State data include records with missing practice county. 
All active DO were included with active MD since 2019-20.
