The numbers include the total number of children under age 19 enrolled in Health Choice (Children's Health Insurance Program).
Notes
On April 1, 2023, North Carolina transitioned to a combined Medicaid structure and eliminated its standalone Children’s Health Insurance Program (Health Choice). Children previously enrolled in Health Choice were automatically transitioned to NC Medicaid. As a result, data for this indicator are no longer collected but remain available for historical comparison.
