Definition
The teen death rate is the number of deaths from all causes per 100,000 teens ages 15 to 19. The data are reported by the youth’s county of residence, rather than by where the death occurred.
Data Source
CBER calculations from Nevada Department of Health and Human Services data, Nevada State Health Division, Bureau of
Health Statistics, Planning, Epidemiology, and Response, Office of
Public Health Informatics and Epidemiology.
Notes
LNE = Low Number Event. Calculated rates based on very small numbers are not statistically reliable. Average three-year rates are not calculated for counties with and age-specific population of less than 10,000, prior to 2011-2013. 2011-2013 rates were not calculated for an age specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 10 deaths. Starting with 2012-2014 data, rates are not calculated for an age-specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 12 deaths.
2013-2015 rates were calculated by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
