Notes
The Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program (FITAP) provides cash assistance to families with children when the financial resources of the family are insufficient to meet subsistence needs. The average family in the program consists of a mother and two children. The grant for a family of three in Louisiana is $484 per month.
Because FITAP data are based on state fiscal year averages, population estimates for two years were averaged to calculate a FITAP participation rate per 100 children. Rates are updated as new estimates become available, and may differ from previously published estimates.
LNE - "low number event" reflects a number or rate based on at least one but fewer than five events.
