Definition

The number of young adults ages 18-24 who voted in the general presidential election. The denominator is the number of young adults ages 18-24 who were registered to vote. Counties and cities reflect where young adults are registered to vote, which may differ from their current place of residence.

Data Source

Michigan state voter file

Notes

Only birth years are available in the Michigan voter file, and as such, these estimates exclude voters and registrants who would have turned 24 in the weeks after the election in a given calendar year. In other words, these data include young adults ages 18 to roughly 23 and 10 months at the time of an election.
