Definition

The percent of parents who report completing a set of questions, on their own or with a health care worker, childcare provider, or preschool teacher about their 3-year-old child's development (how he or she plays, learns, speaks, acts, or moves) during the past 12 months. This indicator is stratified by Alaska Public Health Region.
Note: The survey's description of developmental screening changed in 2020, and the former series is no longer updated. Refer to Three-year-old children who received a developmental screening (checklist) for developmental screening data between 2015 and 2019.

Notes

Two years of data were combined to minimize the unreliability of measurement due to the small number of actual events. The reported values are averages across two years.  For example, we report the average value across the years 2020 and 2021.
The percentages reported above have been produced by weighting the survey results so that estimates better represent the Alaska population.
