Definition
Number of grandparents who are responsible for the basic needs of their own grandchildren.
Responsible for is defined as "financially responsible for food, shelter, clothing, day care, etc., for any or all grandchildren living in the hosuehold" in the American Community in the subject definitions of the survey Technical Documentation.
Also included is number of grandparents who live with their own grandchildren (inclusive of grandparents who are responsible for their own children), how long grandparents have been responsible for their own grandchildren, and the total adult population over age 30.
