Definition and Source

PROVIDER

Definition

Number and percent of infants born to women receiving prenatal care in the first trimester as a percentage of the total number of births.

Data Source

Utah Department of Health, Office of Vital Records and Statistics

Notes

These data are based on self-reports of the mother after she delivers the infant, during the process of compiling the birth certificate information.

*Use caution in interpreting; the estimate has a coefficient of variation > 30% and is therefore deemed unreliable by Utah Department of Health and Human Services standards. Consider aggregating years to decrease the relative standard error and improve the reliability of the estimate. **The estimate has been suppressed because 1) the relative standard error is greater than 50% or the relative standard error can't be determined, 2) the observed number of events is very small and not appropriate for publication, or 3) it could be used to calculate the number in a cell that has been suppressed. Consider aggregating years to decrease the relative standard error and improve the reliability of the estimate.
