Definition

Number of teens age 15-17 who were diagnosed with chlamydia, gonorrhea, or syphilis during a given calendar year. Rate is per 1,000  of same age population. 

Data Source

Number of cases were provided by the Division of AIDS/HIV/STD, Tennessee Department of Health. Population data were collected from the Division of Population Health Assessment, Tennessee Department of Health. The Kids Count division of the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth organized the data and calculated rates.

Notes

Cases less than five cannot be reported due to state confidentiality requirements. Rates for those counties are not available.
