Definition

This indicator represents the number of deaths for children ages 1 through 19, as recorded on death certificates. Death rate is calculated as the number of child and teen deaths per 100,000 in the population during the five year time span.

Data Source

North Dakota Department of Health, Division of Vital Records.
Population estimates to calculate a rate are from the U.S. Census populations with bridged race categories from the National Center for Health Statistics. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/bridged_race.htm
