Definition
The infant mortality rate measures the number of babies who die during their first year of life, per 1,000 live births. The data are reported by county of residence, rather than place of death.
Data Source
CBER calculations from Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Office of
Public Health Informatics and Epidemiology.
Notes
LNE = Low Number Event. Calculated rates based on very small numbers are not statistically reliable. Average three-year rates were not calculated for counties with fewer than 600 births or fewer than 5 deaths, for data prior to 2011-2013. For 2011-2013 data, rates were not calculated for countries with fewer than 600 births or fewer than 10 deaths. Starting with 2012-2014 data, rates are not calculated for counties with fewer than 600 births or fewer than 12 deaths.
2015-2017 rates were calculated by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
