Definition
County Level Data: Per capita personal income is calculated by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. This income measure is the total personal income of the residents in the state (or county) divided by the resident population in the state (or county). Per capita personal income is often used as an indicator of the quality of consumer markets and of the economic well-being of the residents in the state (or county). Personal income is the income received by persons from all sources included in the Bureau of Economic Analysis personal income measure.
School District Data: Per capita personal income is calculated by dividing the total personal income of the residents of the school district by the total number of residents in the school district. Only available for year 2000.
