Definition

Numerator: Number of first births to Georgia residents who are at least 20 years old and have graduated high school. Denominator: Number of first births to Georgia residents. Rate calculation: 100 times the numerator divided by the denominator.

Data Source

Birth Certificate Records, Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of Health Indicators for Planning (OHIP). Data collection is the responsibility of the Vital Records Branch.

Notes

Records with age or mother’s educational attainment missing are excluded from the numerator and denominator. S: Data Suppressed indicates that there were 4 or fewer events on which rates would be based.
