Percent of children under age 18 who live in households receiving (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) TANF cash benefits.  TANF programs in Vermont include Reach Up, Reach Ahead, and Reach First.

Data is expressed as 3-year rolling averages based on snapshots of April enrollment (e.g., 2017-2019 data is the average of April 2017, April 2018, and April 2019).  The population of children under 18 used as the denominator in these rate calculations is a 3-year rolling average derived from Vermont Department of Health/U.S Census population estimates.
