The percentage of students in grades 7-12 who leave a public school before graduation without transferring to another school.

Notes

At a state and county level, this indicator is based on a three-year average of school years. This percent is based on the number of 7th through 12th grade dropouts divided by the addition of the number of 7th through 12th grade dropouts and the number of 12th grade graduates.
