Births to women not born in the U.S. Foreign-born in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are defined as born outside the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

PRB analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics microdata files.

N.A. - Data not available.

N.C. - In 2006 and 2012 mother’s nativity data for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands does not distinguish mothers born in each respective territory versus in the 50 states and DC, as was defined in other years.
