PROVIDER

Definition

The percent of all persons of each race or ethnicity under the age of 18 within a state or county.  Children of Hispanic origin may be of any race. Hispanic origin is considered a separate ethnic category and includes children of different racial backgrounds.

 

Data Source

National Center for Health Statistics. Vintage 2019 postcensal estimates of the resident population of the United States (April 1, 2010, July 1, 2010-July 1, 2019), by year, county, single-year of age (0, 1, 2, .., 85 years and over), bridged race, Hispanic origin, and sex. Prepared under a collaborative arrangement with the U.S. Census Bureau. Available online from https://www.census.gov/data/datasets/time-series/demo/popest/2010s-counties-total.html

2020-2022 data is populated in 2022. Annual County Resident Population Estimates by Age, Sex, Race, and Hispanic Origin: April 1, 2020 to July 1, 2022. County Characteristics Resident Population Estimates Source: U.S. Census Bureau, Population Division. Release date: June 2023. The estimates are developed from a base that integrates the 2020 Census, Vintage 2020 estimates, and 2020 Demographic Analysis estimates.
