Parents who are not covered by any health insurance. Parents include those adults who live with at least one of their own children under age 18. 

The data are based on health insurance coverage at the time of the survey; interviews are conducted throughout the calendar year.

Population Reference Bureau, analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 American Community Survey.
