Definition

Children ages 0-17 living at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Data Source

The U.S. Census Bureau, Small Area Estimates Branch is used for child poverty below 100%.  The other child poverty measures use ACS 5 year estimates.  It is advised not to compare this indicator to the other child poverty indicators due to the difference in soure.

The percentage reflects the total number of children below 100% of the total child population for that locality.

Notes

In 2019, the U.S. Census Bureau defined the poverty level as a combined annual income of $26,172 for a family of four.
