The percent of 10th graders who reported feeling sad or hopeless for at least 2 or more consecutive weeks in the past 12 months.
Data Source
The data used for this measure come from the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) which is conducted every two years. Data were retrieved in June 2024 from: http://www.askhys.net/.
S: Data have been suppressed due to low response rates (below 40% participation).

The Healthy Youth Survey is based on a random sample of 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th graders in schools across Washington State. The HYS is a collaborative effort of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health Service's Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, Community Trade and Economic Development, the Family Policy Council and the Liquor Control Board.
