The 2000 through 2008 data are based on the PACT (Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test), which was designed to be more challenging than the Basic Skills Assessment Program (BSAP) test which it replaced in 1999. The PACT was administered from 1999 through 2008 to students in the grades 3 through 8 in an effort to measure student improvement in mastering more rigorous classroom curriculum in the areas of math and language arts.
Due to differences between the assessments, the PACT results are not comparable to the BSAP, the SCPASS, the ACT Aspire results, or the SC READY results.
